you hear baby cry and you open your eyes and your feet hit the floor and you open the door and the coffee will perk and the eggs hit the pan and you tuck in your shirt say goodbye to the kids but the car in reverse say hello to the day and you merge in the lane it's hectic it's electric it's a brand new day in your life you clock into work and you sort through your files and you meet with your boss and you smoke with a friend and you email some jobs and you plan for the night and you go out to lunch and you watch all the cars and you lose track of time and you call up your boss and you tell him you're sick it's hectic it's electric it's a brand new day in your life could today be the day it all will change? what would you do to make it rearrange? don't you feel like acting a little strange? just break outside and dance and dance and take a chance you got out for the night and you're feeling alright and you dance in the light have fun with your friends and you make plenty new ones then in the morning you go kiss the baby head to the office reject the promotion accept the new dream job moving on up! it's hectic it's electric it's a brand new day in your life

If you seek then you shall find Along the way you'll lose your mind Well I guess that's life Of course it is Well I guess that's life Don't you know it is We're just lucky to be here at all So don't blame them when you fall So many fires put out today When do I get to go out and play? Well I guess that's life Of course it is Well I Guess That's life Don't you know it is We're just lucky to be here at all But won't you catch me when I fall Won't you catch me when I fall You won't see it coming When you're about to lose it all Still you can't blame them when you fall Cuz I guess that's life

E minor is my favorite chord Because it tells me all I need to know About the way the world feels Echoes, shadows in the hall Remind me when I dropped the ball Bright outside, but blue inside we fall Sometimes dark Sometimes light Sometimes too dim Sometimes too bright Adjust your set Picture’s dim Feedback hearts Bleed within the sound system Well you can travel all around the world With your student money But that aint no adult trip Or you can write punk songs And play to empty music halls But it’s just you you’re playing for And that’s the trip I’m on Repeat chorus
4.
You know I see you sitting, crying there With all that gum stuck in your hair Dragged mud into the house again Ruined the laundry with a busted pen You stuck your whole foot in your mouth again With an accidental Reply All It's days like these That grab ahold And don't let go Until you cry Oh my, oh my, oh my You're a day late and ten bucks short And every time you laugh you snort And when you try hard, they shy away And it makes you want to hide away Forgot the e-brake in the driveway And the car rolled in the yard It's days like these That grab ahold and don't let go Until you cry Oh my, oh my oh my Worked so hard on that email greeting That you completely missed the meeting Created three jams in the copier And you spilled coffee on your keyboard Forgot to fax that form over to Brenda in HR It's days like these That grab a hold And don't let go Until you cry Oh my, oh my, oh my

I was never the bravest The brightest, the smartest I was never the one who the girls would flock to But I strived and I sweated Observed from the Outskirts And hoped that one day I'd find Truth From the outside looking in You notice Every smile holds wrinkles of pain From the outside looking in You notice That even though you feel alone Behind their drinks and smiles They all feel the same As you do As you do I may be alone here At this Greyhound Station And I may be having to start fresh again And I may be lonely, and I may be only I may be a loser But I think here I could win Repeat Chorus Well let's finish these smokes Figure out where to go Did I hear you say there's a mission 'round here I'm not really that type But I guess for the night And tomorrow I'll take it from there. Repeat chorus

This is a series of collaborative singles I did with some of my favorite local artists, tracking in late 2019 and early 2020 at their home studios and mixing and mastering and releasing during QuaranTimes. Please go to each of these artists' pages and check them out. Buy their stuff. Follow them. Like and share their posts. Thank you so much for supporting small-time local art.
